Sally Ride was born on May 26, 1951 in Los Angeles, Californa. She was an Eductor, a Physicist, but most
famously known for being an astronaut. She went to stanford University and earned a master's degree in
physics and english. After beating 1000 other applicants for a job in NASA, she became the first American
women to go into space on 1983. The shuttle she rode was named "Challenger," and she went into space
on June 18, and it landed on June 24. She eventually went on a second trip, and was scheduled to go on a
third trip but it got cancelled due to the explosion of the shuttle "Challenger." Then she started her own
company that sell products called "Sally Ride Science."
